About Kyra
I have always had a passion for writing since I was a young girl. Ever since I discovered that passion, I improved my skills through writing my own stories as well as instruction from qualified teachers and professors. I chose to pursue writing in higher education because I wanted to improve my own writing, as well as help other writers grow in their own craft. I have worked with others both inside and outside a class setting, providing feedback on a variety of different writing styles.

- My teaching philosophy is designed around helping writers develop their own unique voice while helping them improve their technical skills.
- A typical lesson looks starting with short writing exercises designed to tackle specific areas of writing such as dialogue, character development, and descriptive writing. Then, depending on what skills a writer is looking on improving, I'll provide some guidance on what my students can focus on in improving their craft. I can also provide critiques on pieces written outside of our sessions, if my student sends me their work.
- My goal is to give writers the freedom to explore their craft, while providing instruction on the basics of writing. It is not to tell them how to write, but to figure out their writing style independently.
- These lessons are for beginner and intermediate writers of all ages who are passionate, but are looking for a little more guidance to improve. My specialties include teaching fiction writing, creative nonfiction, and essay writing.
