About Ugne
Hi everyone! My name is Ugne. I was born in Lithuania but have lived in Ireland for most of my life, so I am bilingual and fluent in both Lithuanian and English. I graduated from UCD and hold a TEFL certification. I enjoy working with people and am passionate about creating a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel confident developing their English skills.

My methodology for teaching English to non-native speakers in an online environment is student-centred, communicative, and interactive. I create engaging virtual lessons that develop learners' confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through real-life communication and meaningful language tasks. I use a range of digital resources, including interactive presentations, videos, online games, virtual whiteboards, and collaborative activities, to maintain engagement and accommodate different learning styles. Lessons are differentiated to meet individual language levels by providing visual supports, modelling, scaffolding, and targeted feedback. I encourage active participation through discussions, breakout rooms, role-play activities, and pair work where appropriate, creating a supportive online classroom in which students feel comfortable practising English. Regular formative assessment, such as quizzes, questioning, and continuous feedback, allows me to monitor progress, address individual learning needs, and help students build fluency, accuracy, and confidence in using English in authentic contexts.
