About Jerilyn

Hello, I'm Jeri! I am born and raised in Las Vegas, NV and have 5 kids of my own. Every since I can remember, I have always loved helping others. Teaching is one way I can help others. I love math! When I am not tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I mostly do things my kids enjoy. For example, we enjoy going skating, seeing a movie, playing in the park. I like to think that I am unlike anybody else. I do not like lying, or being lied to. I like to listen to what people have to say, and how they feel before deciding if I like or dislike somebody. I raise my kids on a couple saying that I like to remember everyday:
" Treat others the way you wanna be treated, even when they treat you like poo, kill them with kindness."
" Even if I get hurt by the truth, I don't care. I would rather be hurt now by the truth, then hurt even more later when the truth finally comes out. Truth always comes out."
"Lead by example."
That last one means so much to me, with my kids. I want them to be the best that they can be. I will always be the best me I can be. Even on my worst day, I will still be positive, happy, and blesssed!

About the lesson

In my classroom I like to have a positive environment, where everyone is welcomed and nobody should feel any negative feeling. I understand everyone learns differently, This is why I like to teach in my own way, which would be never moving on until I know in my mind body and soul that every student has the lesson down and ready to move on. When I am tutoring I do the same thing. With tutoring though I am able to teach one on one, which I can quickly learn which teaching style helps my student learn best. I like to adjust my way of teaching to the student. For example if my student learns visually, then I will teach my lessons visually. Whatever it takes to help my students learn the material, is the way I'm teaching.
