About Audrey

I am a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing and a minor in Spanish and Art History. I have studied Theatre at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in NYC, and have worked as a teaching artist in NYC for over 3 years.

I have written for several publications included ARTS ATL, Twelv Magazine, and Creative Loafing. When I'm not teaching English, I am freelance writing for ads and film + TV as well as producing and acting here in NYC.

I'm a creative and active teacher, and want to build a lesson plan for you that continues to create value for your life long after our lessons and into your future!

About the lesson

I teach English to those who want to learn at all levels and customize our lesson plans according to your goals.

For oral English lessons: We use the International Phonetic Alphabet as developed by Paul Meier to break down the sounds of the English language - This is customizable to each person and their level of English. For example, if you are a native Spanish speaker, we will work on sounds that Spanish doesn't have and how to make them! We will also develop tools to become effective, confident and authentic in how you express yourself through verbal communication.

For writing and reading in English: We will use short stories written in English and discuss how the use of language makes them compelling, how to improve our comprehension of what we've read, and increase our vocabulary by asking questions and delving into the roots and origins of words and expressions.

These lessons are for those improving their English, either written or verbal, and for those still learning English with beginner - intermediate proficiency.

I work with you to customize a lesson plan that not only reaches your goals, but is a fun and engaged way to learn! I have a background in theatre, teaching and creative writing, so I focus on keeping our work fresh and exciting based on your feedback and objectives.
