About Béthany
Béthany Martínez is a dancer, performer and teacher graduated in Dance from UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), Brazil. Born in Uruguay, she resides in Porto Alegre since 2005. She began her studies in contemporary dance in 2008 at the Experimental Dance Group of Porto Alegre. Since then he has participated in various groups such as Porto Alegre Dance Company - working with the Scottish choreographer Mark Sieczkarek (former dancer of Pina Bausch), the São Leopoldo Municipal Dance Company, directed by Marco Fillipin, performed the operas "Dido and Aeneas "And" Orfeu ", extension projects of UFRGS. He participated in the show "Patas Arriba" created and choreographed by the artist Rui Moreira (former member of the Corpo Group and the Black Swan Companhia de Dança). Participated in the NECITRA - Center for Studies with Circus and Transversalities. She is co-creator of the show "Umas e outros" and the collective Brio art and movement. He joined the Municipal Dance Company of Porto Alegre in 2015 and 2016. He recently joined Mouvere Cia de Contemporary Dance. She began her experience as a jazz teacher at the Mara Noschang Dance Studio, teaching in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, she joined the project "Dançado no CAp", teaching jazz, ballet and creative dance classes at the UFRGS Application College. He offered the "Workshop of Contemporary Dance for Beginners" at Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana. It has maintained since 2015 fixed classes of contemporary dance destined to beginner students and focused on the research of improvisation and the scenic creation. Currently she moved to Portugal in search of continuing her work as a teacher and dancer of contemporary dance.

I like to make contact with basic concepts of dance (space, time, flow, expressiveness, etc.). My job is to bring the elements of dance that make the person comfortable out of his state, making him know himself by researching what his body can create. Dance brings us recent issues, and new proposals to come face to face with a constantly changing world-just like us and our bodies. This dance accompanies our day-to-day body state, varying according to our mood and mood. These factors are taken into account for the practice - the constant process of learning and change. Objectives: - Work body awareness. - Encourage the discovery of new possibilities of movements. - Insert practices such as choreography and small sequences to instrumentalize the repertoire of movement. The dance gives the body the experimentation of new states, sensations. Through dance and body awareness we begin to see how our body behaves before the world and people. From this consciousness and the notion of our possibilities as creative and creative beings, we can use the infinite range of state-movements that our body can reach.
