About Dmitry
Lyric tenor Dmitry Mironov (He/Him) is currently pursuing his Master of Music degree at the Mannes School of Music, where he also completed his Bachelor of Music. Originally from Moscow, Russia, he began performing at the age of seven, appearing in both professional and community theater productions before continuing his vocal training at the Tchaikovsky Academic Music College. At Mannes Opera, Mr. Mironov has performed a wide range of roles across major productions. His recent appearances include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni under the baton of Cris Frisco, and the dual roles of Ares and Maron in Mark Adamo’s Lysistrata, conducted by Geoff McDonald (2024). Additional credits include Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (2023, conductor Tong Chen), La Rainette in Ravel’s L'enfant et les sortilèges (2023, conductor Christopher Allen), and Mercurio in Cavalli’s La Calisto (2022, conductor Kamna Gupta). Prior to his studies in New York, he portrayed Lensky in Eugene Onegin at the Tver Academic Theater (2020). In concert and recital settings, Mr. Mironov has been a featured soloist at the Mannes Sounds Festival, performing in the 25th Anniversary celebration (2024) and A Tribute to César Franck (2022). Other appearances include performances in Les contes d’Hoffmann and Anna Bolena with Mannes Opera’s Sceneworks, and concerts for Hayk Grigoryan’s Opera Night project and the Jewish Cultural Center in Russia. His training includes participation in masterclasses on the island of Ischia (2018–2019) and, most recently, with John Fisher as part of the Premiere Opera Foundation’s 2025 masterclass. He has worked with an array of esteemed professionals including teachers Arthur Levy and Hayk Grigoryan, and conductors such as Cris Frisco, Geoff McDonald, and Kamna Gupta. Mr. Mironov’s growing versatility and dramatic sensitivity continue to distinguish him as an emerging voice on the operatic stage.

As a vocal tutor, my lessons place a strong emphasis on breath control, position, and the coordinated use of vocal muscles. We begin by developing diaphragmatic breathing and body awareness to create a stable and supported sound. I guide students in finding optimal vocal position to achieve clarity, projection, and a free, ringing tone without strain. Through targeted exercises and repertoire, students learn to sing with power, freedom, and precision, building the technical foundation.
