About Edwin

I am an accounting professional with a strong academic background, having achieved Term Distinction during my studies. In my current role, I work in a field where I apply accounting principles and financial concepts on a daily basis, allowing me to bring real-world experience into my lessons. As a tutor, I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping students build confidence in their abilities. I welcome questions, discussion, and feedback, and I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring new concepts and developing their skills.

About the lesson

I believe in teaching students how to fish rather than simply giving them a fish. My goal is not just to help students solve a problem in the moment, but to equip them with the skills and mindset needed to tackle similar challenges independently in the future.

My lessons are typically structured into four parts. First, we begin with a review session to assess prior knowledge and identify any gaps in understanding. Next, I introduce and explain the key concepts for the lesson. We then move into guided practice, where students apply what they have learned through exercises and examples to strengthen their understanding. Finally, we conclude with an overview section to address any remaining questions, review key takeaways, and establish goals for the next class.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong communication skills and ability to break down complex concepts into simple, understandable terms. I focus on ensuring that students truly understand the material rather than memorizing procedures. By adapting my explanations to each student's learning style, I help them build confidence and develop a solid foundation in the subject.

My lessons are designed for high school and early university students who are taking introductory or intermediate accounting courses, whether they are studying accounting as a major or looking to strengthen their understanding of the subject.
