About Skylar
My name is Skylar MacKenzie, I graduated last year from the University of Rhode Island with a BA in Elementary Education (a nationally accredited program) and Psychology. I have experience and currently work with behaviors, severe disabilities, and special ed. I have a TEFL certification for teaching English to foreign language learners, therefore am able to teach anything from phonics skills to conversation skills in social or business situations.

I have a robust foundation in teaching and understanding diverse learning, and the importance of tailored education and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
I currently work at high school for students with severe disabilities and am learning alternate forms of communication to work with diverse learners.
I am most passionate about learning through experience and giving students the confidence to take risks. Taking risks is when growth happens. Having students be completely emerged in what they are learning is most effective in my experiences as a teacher.
