About Rachel
¡Saludos! My name is Rachel Wappel and I carry a B.A. in Spanish Language & Literature from the University of Oklahoma with global experience living and studying in Chile, Argentina, Perú and Spain. I have a vast working experience with children in Elementary and Middle-School levels (Grades 4-8th) in Spanish foreign language instruction and ESL learners. I would love to share my experiences of language in an English & Spanish bilingual capacity because I believe language education is the key to mending our broken world into a whole one.
Using my mastery of the Spanish and English language, I believe in opening cultural doors for potential future employment opportunities to all ages, advocate for equity in social justice and economic improvements through out our growing Hispanic/Latino communities. I feel I'm a strong candidate for your tutoring needs because I am a positive asset in helping others bring a willingness and love to multiple languages and cultures through the power of Education, Service, Critical thinking skills, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity to bring the world of Spanish to English-speaking students.
I am certified to teach the Spanish Language - Bilingual Generalist 4-8th grade / ESL and hold a TEFL (Teach English Foreign Language) Certification (170 hour online: 150 hour coursework, 20 hour practicum) through the International TEFL Academy. I plan to be an asset to American students learning Spanish here in the U.S. and those abroad learning English.
I endeavor to help students adapt efficiently with their Spanish and English as its use continues to grow every day in the U.S. so that their bilingual achievements might be passed on to help others build cultural bridges of equality and love through out the world.

My tutoring and lessons are interactive, fun, challenging and focused for all Spanish and/or ESL Language learners. As a 6 year experienced teacher in Spanish Language & Literature and ESL/TEFL, you receive realistic, international lessons with a global perspective built into the love of the language.
Spanish and Latin American culture is strongly emphasized alongside strengthening listening, reading, speaking and writing skills for Castilian and Latin American forms.
Using well-rounded lessons of instruction for all the five senses, my lessons build stronger retention for memorization, mastery of language mechanics (accent, tone and varied vocabulary) with real world experience and authentic application to build conversational skills and confidence of second language speech.
Working hard and building practice will be necessary, but we work through relevant repetition, varying methods of mastery for Spanish levels (A1-C2) and/or ESL levels (A1-C2) according to your current level and build up to cater to your current language level experience.
