I have worked as a teacher before and I know students are not all the same when it comes to the best method of learning. I strive to find a method of understanding that works for each student, filling up their toolbelt and allowing them to choose the most effective method for themselves.
I think having students be active participants in their learning through modeling and hands on activities allows them to get the most out of tutoring sessions and builds on what they know already to gather complete understanding of concepts.
