About Beth
After graduating from University of Kent, I became an academic mentor in a secondary school. I teach KS3/KS4 covering areas such as: Literacy, GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature.
With my KS3 pupils, we work a lot on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing. My KS4 pupils are currently learning a wide range of texts for their GCSE. These include but are not limited to: ‘An Inspector Calls’, ‘Macbeth’, ‘A Christmas Carol’, AQA poetry anthology. This is as well as English Language, which is my specialty.

I currently teach a lot of 1:1 pupils, particularly those who need additional help due to mental health. By creating a calm and relaxed environment, I am able to build students’ confidence and understanding.
I believe that breaking down tasks into managable chunks makes it less overwhelming for pupils which ultimately improves wellbeing, as well as comprehension.
