About Alexandria

I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in biology and a minor in Chinese. I currently work in cancer research at the University of Pennsylvania and while working I enrolled in post baccalaureate courses at Penn. These courses included organic chemistry and biochemistry, both of which I received an A+ grade. I have always had a passion for science and math and understand that these subjects are difficult. However, I believe with enough practice problems and a tutor who is patient, knowledgeable and believes in your success, everyone can pass these classes-and maybe even enjoy the learning process along the way.

About the lesson

Lessons will be approximately one hour in length and review topics that the student struggles most with and review new material learned. Each lesson will be specific to the student. This is what a general lesson plan will look like with specifications tailored to each student to ensure success in the class and an understanding of the subject material.

First few minutes: the student and I will discuss their goals for the lesson and what material has been learned/ what they are struggling with.

The next 20 to 30 minutes the student will work independently on practice problems/material brought from their class, asking questions when they arise. If there are not many problems from the student’s class, I will provide additional problems.

The last 30 to 40 minutes I will review the practice problems with the student, correcting their work and explaining any theory behind the problem, if relevant.

With the remaining time I will provide additional practice problems the student can work on after the session and any tips I can offer with how to approach problems and what to work on for the next session.
