About Miles
I am a recent graduate from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law. I am currently getting my Master's degree in Legal Studies from Washington University in St. Louis. Since graduation, I have served in The White House's Office of Presidential Correspondence, and have been a U.S. Navy reservist since 2018. I have a passion and deep knowledge on U.S. Government, U.S. History, and Economics that I hope to utilize to pass on to younger students! I am also happy to teach any subject in lower-level grades, and am proficient in English Literature and Language up to the collegiate level.

As a tutor, I like to take on a "see one, do one" approach. In any subject, I believe that it works best when the student, themselves, can be so proficient in a subject, they are able to teach it themselves.
In my lessons, I will work through a few problems/questions with the student then, over the course of the lesson, make sure that we end with them being able to do it by themselves without a tutor's assistance.
This will be accomplished through activities where we drill the same information in different ways, as to adhere the knowledge to different neurological pathways. Things like flashcard games or storytelling/writing projects will be utilized to accomplish this.
Further, on more intricate subjects, like philosophy, I will hold open discussions on the material in an effort to help the student find the deeper/layered meanings of the material.
Overall, I will try and make sure that the student becomes proficient enough in the subject so as to not need a tutor further, and so they understand new concepts to apply in their further studies.
