About Aedan
I am a 25yr old qualified science teacher from Australia who is currently teaching in the UK. I have experience teaching KS3 and GCSE students. I’m passionate about helping learners build confidence in science by breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps.
I really enjoy using my iPad to visually illustrate scientific concepts, particularly through simple diagrams, animations, and step-by-step explanations. I find that creating short videos is a great way to make complex ideas more accessible and gives students a resource they can return to whenever they need to revisit a concept or clarify their understanding.

My lessons are targeted, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on identifying gaps in understanding and building strong foundations through clear explanations and effective teaching techniques.
To keep students motivated and involved, I use a combination of interactive learning games and structured practice. This helps reinforce key concepts while making learning enjoyable and memorable.
I also place a strong emphasis on exam skills and applying knowledge to GCSE-style questions, ensuring students gain confidence and improve their performance over time.

I studied with Aedan throughout my career in Education starting in Australia before working alongside him at a high school. During his time working with students at our school, Aedan consistently demonstrated an excellent ability to build positive and meaningful relationships with young people.
Aedan quickly developed a strong rapport with the students he worked with, creating an environment where they felt comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and engaging with their learning. He was patient, approachable and encouraging, while still maintaining clear expectations and keeping students focused on their work. His ability to adapt his explanations and support to suit individual students was particularly valuable.
Aedan also worked extremely well as part of our wider staff team. He communicated professionally with teachers and support staff, was reliable and receptive to feedback, and was always willing to contribute wherever needed. He developed positive relationships across the staff contingent and was a well-respected member of the school community during his time with us.
Based on my experience working alongside Aedan, I would confidently recommend him for a tutoring role. I believe his combination of subject knowledge, communication skills and genuine ability to connect with students would make him an excellent option.Aedan and I met at a regional South Australian high school where Aedan completed some relief teaching days. As a colleague, Aedan showed amazing teaching prowess in the classroom and out. Aedan did an amazing job of fostering learning environments suitable for any student and allowed each student to thrive. This was not a result of luck but comes from Aedan’s continuous commitment to planning and creating amazing methods of teaching. Aedan led a project focusing on the universal learning design teaching model. In this project, he helped staff across our site improve their teaching methods and make them accessible for every student. It’s a testament to his passion for education, as a relief teacher in South Australia is not required to run a project such as this. Any school, colleague, or student that works with Aedan will be better off for it, as he has an infectious desire for meaningful education.
Aedan worked with my son for 12 months, helping him develop confidence and participate in community sport. While this wasn't a tutoring job, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for support with school work. Aedan was professional, organised and a great role model. He had great rapport with the kids on the team, collaborated with me to set goals, worked with my son's strengths and provided amazing support and encouragement to him. We are grateful for the time Aedan worked with our family.
As SACE coordinator at my school, I have recommended Aedan as a tutor for many of my Year 11 & 12 maths and science students. Most notably he has designed resources and provided ongoing support for students studying Stage 1&2 Chemistry and General Mathematics. He has demonstrated high level communication of concepts, managed student time effectively and been consistently approachable yet professional in his dealings with young adult learners. I cannot recommend him highly enough as a tutor.
