About Joël
Hi I'm Joël, I'm a 21-year-old from the Netherlands! I tutored groups of highschool students in the Netherlands and would like to continue this in Australia! I'm most passionate about planning and mathematics. Planning has never been a problem for me and I would like to help others aquire this skill. I'm most passionate about teaching mathematics, since I usually did not agree with the teaching style of my math teachers when I was a student myself. I think math can be extremely fun and be more like a puzzle, which many math teachers do not show.

The typical length of a lesson will take 1 to 2 hours, depending on the guidance the student needs per session. How the lesson will look like depends on the student's preferences, but will generally have 4 parts:
1. Discussion about both the hard and easy parts of the matter.
2. An explanation (if the matter is considered new for the student)
3. The student showing their ability to make an exercise, while explaining their thinking steps.
4. Helping the student tobe able to come up with the correct steps on their own.
I have been a tutor before for a company called BrainBoost. Teaching highschool students both how to plan their studies and material within sciences was required of me. Therefore my lessons are mainly meant for highschool students thathave trouble with either mathematics and/or planning. However, tutoring in other courses within the field of sciences are open for discussion.
