About Megan

Hi! I’m Megan, and I’m passionate about helping students unlock their full potential in Media Studies. I know that this subject is so much more than just analysing TV shows or films — it’s about understanding the world around us, from social media to advertising, news to representation. My goal is to make Media Studies enjoyable, accessible, and empowering for every student I work with. I’ve studied Media Studies at A-Level and continued building my skills through my university studies at King's College London, studying Culture, Media and Creative Industries. I combine academic insight with real-world examples (think: TikTok trends, Netflix documentaries, and ad campaigns) to bring theory to life. Outside of tutoring, I love running, hiking, and reading — especially anything that explores pop culture, media theory, or feminism. I’m friendly, patient, and totally committed to helping you feel confident in class and in exams. Whether you need help breaking down a theory, analysing a media product, or mastering those tricky 12- or 25-mark questions, I’ve got your back. Let’s work together to boost your skills, your grades — and maybe even your love for the subject!

About the lesson

I take a student-focused and engaging approach to tutoring. My lessons are tailored to each learner’s needs, whether that’s building confidence with theory, strengthening exam technique, or developing analytical skills for unseen texts. I use a mix of discussion, visuals, past paper practice, and structured notes to keep lessons interactive and relevant to the curriculum. - A typical lesson is 60 minutes long and includes: - A short recap of previous content - Introduction to a new topic or exam-style task - Step-by-step guidance with active input from the student - A quick wrap-up with time for questions and next steps I have academic and practical experience in Media Studies, including studying it at A-Level and working on media-related modules at university. I also have tutoring experience and have helped students improve both their grades and confidence in written responses. My lessons are ideal for: - GCSE and A-Level students (aged 14–18) - Learners aiming to boost their exam technique or subject understanding - Students who benefit from a supportive and structured learning environment
