About Mateo
As a teacher, my biggest goal is inspiring both confidence and enthusiasm towards mathematics. I know that math can be extremely challenging and frustrating when things don't click and so I aim to create an environment that welcomes asking questions and never feeling shame about one's abilities. Having been trained by Brown University's department of Applied Mathematics, I have engaged in numerous professional development meetings and learned from the greatest minds in the field how to be the best helping hand.

As a tutor, I start lessons by initially covering the topics at hand before providing practice questions that address common hardships allowing room for both questions and growth. I have extensive experience teaching both high school and collegiate mathematics as both a tutor and an undergraduate/head teaching assistant. I worked 8 semesters as a TA and even taught my own class sections at the Ivy League institution Brown University. Though my focus is on advanced mathematics, I teach all levels of math with the same level of support.
