About Eric

Eric Helms holds degrees from Furman University and Columbia University’s School of the Arts. Having spent the past decade in the city of New York, he currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. Some of his work can be found in the Asheville Poetry Review, key_hole, Prelude, Diagram, MadHat Lit, Souvenir, American Athenaeum, Rhino, 4×4 and Blunderbuss. His debut collection, VALLEY OF EMPTY POCKETS, can be purchased through the MAIN STREET RAG ONLINE BOOKSTORE.

About the lesson

My pedagogical approach entails an attitude of openness where ideas and thoughts of students are equally weighed and considered in the hope that such engagement will inspire the necessary confidence to dissect any given literary text. It is with such a license to explore that the reader can venture into the underlying social and political forces which make that given text unique and enduring. These lessons are for anyone and everyone, whether you are obtaining a degree, struggling with a class, or just curious.
