About Angelica

I am a graduate of Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education major in Home Economics, with formal training in teaching methods, lesson planning, and learner-centered instruction. My experience includes working as a private tutor for a Grade 1 student and serving as a Sunday school teacher for both children’s and adult ministries. These roles have strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning levels, and create a respectful, supportive environment.

As a student leader with experience at the local, regional, and national levels, I have regularly engaged in public speaking, facilitation, and mentoring. This has helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to inspire confidence in learners. I prepare thoroughly for every session, set clear goals, and maintain professionalism in my language, materials, and interactions.

My approach is rooted in clarity, encouragement, and integrity. I treat each student with respect, honor their individual pace, and uphold high standards in my teaching. You can trust that our sessions will be organized, purposeful, and focused on your growth—not only academically, but also in confidence and character.

About the lesson

I believe learning should be clear, encouraging, and connected to real life. I begin by understanding my student’s strengths, challenges, and interests, then tailor lessons so they feel supported yet challenged to grow.

I use explanation, guided practice, and active learning. I break lessons into small steps, use visual aids and simple examples, and ask checking questions to ensure understanding. I also have students explain concepts in their own words to build confidence and reveal gaps.

A one-hour lesson includes: a quick review (5–10 minutes), introduction of the new concept with examples (10–15 minutes), guided practice where I model then let the student try (20–25 minutes), independent practice, and a brief recap with goals for next time (5 minutes).

I am patient, consistent, and attentive to my student’s emotions, not just their answers. I have served as a private tutor and as a Sunday school teacher for both children’s and adult ministries. This has strengthened my ability to explain ideas at different levels, connect lessons to real-life values, and create a warm, respectful, faith-based learning environment. As a student leader and future educator, I bring strong communication skills and encouragement that help learners feel safe to make mistakes and keep trying.

My tutoring experience is with elementary learners, specifically a Grade 1 student, focusing on reading, basic math, and study habits. Through Sunday school, I have also taught children and adults, adapting content to their age, background, and needs.
