About Lemuel

I am a first-year Computer Science student at UNSW Sydney and a recent IB Diploma 44/45 graduate. I sat the same exams my students are preparing for, under the same syllabus, which means I know exactly where the course gets hard and what examiners are looking for when they mark it.

I'm reliable with scheduling, I respond to messages promptly, and I am happy to keep parents updated on progress if that is useful.

What I care about most is that students leave a session understanding why something works, not just how to reproduce it. Math and Physics especially in IB reward that kind of understanding heavily at HL, and it is the difference between a student who can handle a familiar question and one who can handle an unfamiliar one. If you're aiming for a 7, or just want to feel less lost in class, I will be glad to help.

About the lesson

I scored 44/45 in the IB Diploma May 2025 Cohort with a 7 in both Maths AI HL and Physics HL, and I now study Computer Science at UNSW. I tutor IB Maths AI (HL and SL) and IB Physics (HL and SL) for Years 11 and 12.

My approach is built on analogies and worked examples. Most IB students don't struggle because the content is impossible, they struggle because it's been presented as a set of rules with no particular reason behind it. So I explain each concept through something you already understand, then immediately apply it to a real IB-style question so the idea sticks to the kind of problem you will actually face in the exam. For Physics that means building physical intuition before touching the formula sheet. For Maths AI it means understanding what an equation or solution is actually saying about the situation, not just following a sequence of steps.

Lessons run 60 minutes and are held one-on-one online, so we can work through problems together on a shared whiteboard and you get a record of everything we cover. A typical session starts with whatever you're stuck on right now, whether that's this week's class content, a past paper question, or an upcoming assessment. I will work through it with you then set a small amount of targeted practice so the next lesson builds on the last. I also support Internal Assessment work, exam technique, and Paper 1, 2 and 3 preparation.

I teach students anywhere in Australia and overseas, at whatever pace suits you, whether you're aiming to move from a 4 to a 5 or from a 6 to a 7.
