About Darius
I have over five years of college-level English courses and graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts in 2023. I also have closely taught and mentored two students to help them not only succeed in school but show them ways to succeed in life. Aside from that, I grew up with three younger siblings so obviously I had to play tutor for the subjects they needed help with.
All of this has taught me patience and understanding when getting to know what someone is having a problem with and why. From there, we will create a plan to help solve the problem and any potential problems in the future.

I don't believe in time limits since everyone learns at different paces. Our session can be for as long as you want it to be or until you no longer have any questions. A tutoring session isn't just about me teaching you, it's about you teaching me as well. I like to get to know who I'm helping so that I can tailor the experience for more efficient and effective sessions. I take notes on how I present different concepts and how well you receive them or not. This way we both learn from each other!
I teach anywhere from middle school to college-level English, writing, and composition. I will show you how to write effective paragraphs, arguments, and essays. This includes understanding the writing process, how to summarize ideas, critique literature, and cite sources correctly in MLA or APA.
From helping both family and friends growing up, I know how it feels to not understand certain concepts. What sets me apart from other tutors is that I just recently graduated college so I'm actually closer in age to you than you think!
