I'm currently an SLP graduate student at CU Boulder. Before grad school, I worked at a tech company as a bilingual customer service representative serving French and French Canadian customers for two years. My undergraduate degree is in French. I taught English in a French high school in Douai for one academic year.

I take a very individualistic approach to teaching and tutoring. I want to get to know you and find out what works best for you so that you can be successful.
Speaking is something I like to focus on during my sessions because typical French courses tend to focus on the written language, which can leave students feeling embarrassed or nervous when they have to speak. Listening comprehension can also be difficult to develop in a classroom environment. This is why I think it's of paramount importance to use real-world resources: content created by native French speakers for native French speakers. If students only hear French spoken by their teacher or tutor, who may or may not be a native French speaker, then they might have difficulty translating that knowledge to situations outside of the classroom.
I have been speaking French for 12 years and I am fully aware of all the things that I stumbled on as a native English speaker. I'm happy to show you how I got around them and to make a plan so that you can avoid confusion or triumph over it.

My travel rate varies based on the distance I have to cover. My hourly rate is based on how much preparation I must do before our sessions. Higher-level students might need more rigorous material, which takes more time to prepare, and therefore might result in a rate increase.
