  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I have been associated with Superprof for the past 3 years and I teach Ukulele ,Acoustic guitar, Electric and Bass guitar. I did my music courses from Berklee College of Music, London. I also did study about music production and various kinds of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations). My interest developed in the field of my music in my early school days when an opportunity to get a shot at playing in my school band presented itself to me. Trials were held for the position of lead guitarist position and I had started playing the guitar before that but from then onward I took it more seriously and prepared myself for the trials and finally was able to bag that opportunity. That was start of my musical journey and that’s how my interest developed in music.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

The goal that I had and still follow is to provide people with a complete idea about the instrument that they are playing and that they can play and figure out any song they like all by themselves without taking the help of anyone. I was motivated to start teaching because I felt I can offer the world some out of the box techniques which I have developed during my learning and
playing gigs days which will help my students be an all round developed musicians.
  • How does your work help society?

Many of my students who come to me for classes are intermediate level players or had prior experience of learning from some place. But I have seen that most of the thing they have learnt previously were not the correct concepts or they had some lack of knowledge in very basic fundamental areas. I through my classes aim to give my students a proper solid foundation of music and an in-depth knowledge about the instrument they are learning because if any of them decides to become a tutor in the near future I can be assured that they will pass on quality knowledge to the next generation of learners and help in the progress of the society.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

There is a famous maxim in English: “A good teacher teaches, an excellent teacher teaches something more but an ideal teacher inspires.” I was inspired to start my musical journey by my music teacher of my school and I can gladly say he is my role model for my field of work.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Music for me started out as my hobby but now I teach music professionally. Outside teaching I an avid reader of thriller novels by writers like Dan Brown and also I am a big fan of ghost stories.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

I would like to share an anecdote with everyone from my days when I was doing classes in Berklee. There is a term in which we are taught about only theories of music and there was very less jamming and playing the instrument. I still can imagine how much we disliked that term like many of students who also are not very keen on learning the music theories. But now when I started figuring
out songs on my own and started composing my own music I understood the immense value of those theory classes.
