About Yee Shee

Hello! My name is Yee Shee (Cheryl), and I am passionate about helping young children build a strong and joyful foundation in the Chinese language. As a native Chinese speaker and someone with a strong academic background, I understand the importance of creating a supportive and engaging environment for young learners. My teaching style is friendly, patient, and interactive, with lessons designed around songs, storytelling, games, and simple conversations to make learning Chinese fun and natural. I have experience working with toddlers and primary-aged children, tailoring each lesson to suit their age, level, and learning pace. I believe that every child can succeed in learning a new language when they feel encouraged, confident, and excited. My goal is not only to teach Chinese but also to inspire a lifelong love of learning and cultural appreciation. About the lesson

Hi, I’m Yee Shee (Cheryl), and I am passionate about making Chinese language learning fun, natural, and engaging for young children!

I believe young learners learn best through play, songs, stories, and everyday conversation. I use lots of interactive activities like singing, simple role-playing, storytelling, and games to help children feel confident and excited to speak Chinese naturally.

A typical lesson is around 30 to 45 minutes — perfect for keeping toddlers and young children focused and engaged. Lessons are tailored based on the child's age and language background, balancing speaking, listening, simple reading, and writing activities.

I have a background in education and a strong passion for language teaching. As a native Chinese speaker with a Master’s degree in Data Science, I bring a thoughtful, structured approach to every lesson, while keeping learning joyful and pressure-free.

I offer lessons for toddlers (ages 3–5) and primary school children (ages 6–10) at beginner to early intermediate levels. Whether your child is completely new to Chinese or has some exposure already, I adapt the lessons to meet their needs.

My goal is to build strong language foundations and most importantly, a love for learning Chinese!
