About Jasna

The German language is my passion and my profession. I have been teaching German as a foreign language on all levels (A1-C2) for many years - at the university in my home city of Berlin, in courses for international employees at major German companies, at private language schools and in integration courses here in Germany. My aim is to share my passion for the language with you and to give you the tools you need to understand and internalize the logic, systematics and structures of the German language, so that you can soon be autonomous in using it. (Yes, the German language has an inner logic, even if it sometimes doesn't seem that way :)

Apart from teaching, I also work as a translator/interpreter, director and dramaturge in the theater, where language also plays a major role. With this background, I like to use performing arts and theater pedagogy in my lessons to mobilize the playful potential of the learners. If you are interested in theater, we can also integrate this into our lessons.

Die deutsche Sprache ist meine Leidenschaft und mein Beruf. Ich unterrichte seit meinem Studium Deutsch als Fremdsprache auf allen Stufen (A1-C2) - an der Universität in meiner Heimatstadt Berlin, in Firmenkursen, an privaten Sprachschulen, in Integrationskursen. Mein Ziel ist es, meine Freude an der Sprache und am Sprachenlernen (ich spreche bzw. lerne mehrere Fremdsprachen selbst) mit dir zu teilen und dir die notwendigen Werkzeuge an die Hand zu geben, um die Logik, Systematik und die Strukturen der deutschen Sprache zu verstehen und zu verinnerlichen, so dass du sie bald ganz selbstständig anwenden kannst. (Ja, die deutsche Sprache hat eine innere Logik, auch wenn das manchmal nicht so scheint :)

Ich arbeite auch als Übersetzerin/Dolmetscherin, Regisseurin und Dramaturgin im Theater, wo die Sprache ebenfalls eine große Rolle spielt. Vor diesem Hintergrund wende ich in meinem Unterricht gerne auch Mittel des darstellenden Spiels und der Theaterpädagogik an, um das spielerische Potenzial der Lernenden zu mobilisieren. Falls du dich für Theater interessierst, können wir das auch in unseren Unterricht integrieren.

About the lesson

In the first lesson, we will define your main goals, eg whether you need to prepare for a specific exam, or if you prefer to focus on grammar, or rather train one (or more) of the communicative skills (speaking, listening, reading , writing) in particular. With your goals in mind, I prepare the lessons individually for you.

Your interests are also important, because if you are particularly interested in politics or history or literature (or something entirely else), I will try to integrate this into the lessons.

Yet not only thematic but also methodological variety is important to me in the lessons. I am therefore always interested in your feedback and suggestions, because everyone is a different type of learner and some methods work better for you than others. Thus, it is always good if you tell me what helped you learn best and what not so much.

The aim is to make the lessons efficient and fun at the same time, so that you can get the most out of the time you invest.

In der ersten Stunde definieren wir deine Hauptziele, z.B. ob du dich auf eine bestimmte Prüfung vorbereiten musst oder eine oder mehrere der kommunikativen Fertigkeiten (Sprechen, Hören, Lesen, Schreiben) besonders trainieren möchtest, oder lieber einen Schwerpunkt auf Grammatik legen willst. Mit diesem Ziel vor Augen bereite ich den Unterricht individuell für dich vor.

Deine Interessen sind dabei auch wichtig, denn wenn du dich z.B. besonders für Politik oder Geschichte oder Literatur (oder etwas ganz anderes) interessierst, versuche ich, das auch in den Unterricht zu integrieren.

Aber nicht nur thematische, sondern auch methodologische Abwechselung sind mir im Unterricht wichtig. Ich freue mich daher immer über Feedback und Verbesserungsvorschläge, denn jede/r ist ein anderer Lerntyp und manche Methoden funktionieren bei dir besser als andere, und es ist immer gut, wenn du mir sagst, was dir am besten hilft zu lernen und was weniger.

Das Ziel ist es, den Unterricht effizient und gleichzeitig Spaß bringend zu gestalten, so dass du das Beste aus der Zeit, die du investierst, herausbekommen kannst.

Der Unterricht mit Jasna war sehr hilfreich für mich und hat auch immer Spaß gemacht. Sie erklärt die Grammatik sehr gut, so dass ich auch die schwierigen Sachen endlich verstanden habe. Sie hat bei der Vorbereitung von Unterricht sehr meine Bedürfnisse und Interessen berücksichtigt, und hat auch spontan passende Onlineaufgaben gehabt, wenn sie gemerkt hat, dass ich ein bestimmtes Thema noch etwas mehr üben sollte. Wir haben auch interessante Texte von deutschsprachigen Autoren gelesen, und Musik auf Deutsch gehört, das war super. Ich kann sie als Lehrerin unbedingt weiterempfehlen!
