About Jodi

I am a Geophysics graduate from Imperial College London, and have been giving private lessons since 2014. My classes focus on the core sciences, but I also enjoy tutoring Geography and Spanish. I have very much enjoyed working with students to improve their predicted and actual grades working towards their GCSEs or A Levels.

About the lesson

I believe that employing a combination of techniques is the best method of teaching, in order to keep the topic interesting and memorable. I am happy to go over the syllabus with a pupil, or focus on more specific concerns and weaknesses. Ultimately, practise makes perfect and so I like to go through past questions as a way to both assess pupils and prepare them for their exams.

As a science grad' I am very passionate about anything science or maths, and hope to pass my enthusiasm on to others! As someone currently studying for my masters, I am aware of different learning and studying techniques in addition to the stresses of exams. I therefore think I can bring an additional perspective to learning!

I am also a qualified 'Teaching English as a foreign language' tutor, and speak a pre-advanced level of Spanish. As a language-learner myself, I truly understand the frustrations and difficulties language-learners face when learning a new language, and some of the best ways to work through them.
