About Tiwa

I'm a friendly, patient and enthusiastic individual who enjoys helping young people develop confidence in their abilities and achieve their academic goals.

I achieved a grade 7 in both GCSE English Language and English Literature and have previous academic mentoring experience supporting students aged 10–16. Through this experience, I've developed strong communication skills and an understanding of how important patience, encouragement and adapting to different learning needs can be.

I understand that English can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when students struggle to analyse texts, structure their essays or express their ideas confidently. I want to help change that by creating a positive, welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring their ideas and learning at their own pace.

Above all, I want students to leave each lesson feeling more confident, capable and motivated than when they started.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Tiwa! I'm currently a university student with a strong interest in education and helping young people succeed academically.

I achieved grade 7 in both GCSE English Language and English Literature and have experience as an academic mentor, supporting students aged 10–16 with their learning and development.

I'm naturally patient, approachable and encouraging, and I enjoy helping others find the confidence to express their ideas. Having been through GCSEs myself, I understand how challenging they can sometimes feel, especially when it comes to analysing texts, structuring essays or preparing for exams.

Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, art and exploring new interests. I've always appreciated how English encourages creativity, imagination and different perspectives, and I hope to help students discover that same enjoyment while developing confidence in their own abilities.
