About Kate
I’m an experienced secondary-school educator, senior leader and SENDCO with over a decade of experience working with young people.
I’m passionate about helping students understand not just what they need to improve, but how to improve it. I believe the most useful feedback is clear, encouraging and practical, giving students a small number of achievable next steps that they can apply independently to their next piece of work.
Alongside my leadership and SEND experience, I have experience of GCSE exam marking and a strong understanding of assessment and effective feedback. I’m particularly experienced in supporting students with additional needs and adapting feedback so that it is accessible and manageable rather than overwhelming.
I currently offer flexible, asynchronous essay marking and feedback for GCSE students. There are no regular lessons or ongoing commitments required — students can simply submit a practice response whenever they would benefit from an experienced second pair of eyes.
