About Lucy
I am currently a Veterinary Medicine student at Keele University with a strong interest in science and helping others build confidence in Biology. Having achieved GCSE and A-Level Biology myself, I understand the challenges students face when preparing for exams and how overwhelming certain topics can feel at first.
I also have dyslexia, which has meant I’ve had to develop and adapt different learning strategies over time. Because of this, I’m very aware that not everyone learns in the same way, and I’m patient and flexible in my approach. This helps me explain topics in multiple ways until they make sense for each individual student.
My aim is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace.

I focus on making GCSE Biology easy to understand by breaking complex topics into simple, logical steps. I use diagrams, real-life examples (especially linked to medicine and animal science), and active recall techniques to help students actually remember what they learn rather than just memorising it. I also adapt my teaching style depending on how each student learns best, whether that’s visual explanations, exam question practice, or step-by-step walkthroughs.
Lessons are usually 1 hour long, but I’m flexible and can adjust depending on the student’s needs and concentration level.
I am currently studying Veterinary Medicine at Keele University. I achieved a Grade 6 in GCSE Biology and a C at A-Level Biology, so I understand both the content and the challenges students face when preparing for exams. While I’m new to formal tutoring, I’m confident in explaining concepts clearly and helping students improve their understanding and exam technique.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE Biology students (typically ages 14–16), whether they are aiming to pass, improve their grade, or reach top grades. I can also support younger students who need help building a strong foundation in science.
