About Rebecca
I am currently furloughed from a socially conscious cafe based in a local community centre where I have connected with children, teens and adults with specific needs (Autism/Dyslexia/ADHD/Learning Difficulties), and teach young adults new skills that will increase their employability.
I have taken virtual teaching courses, in order to apply knowledge from traditional face-to-face lessons into the virtual scene, by taking advantage of modern technology such as interactive and online whiteboards, PowerPoints, and conducted preferably through Zoom or Skype.

My teaching method is very interactive and flexible. Through an orientation process during our first session, I will work with the student to establish clear goals, an attainable way in which to achieve these goals, and find a teaching style that works best for the student. This gives the student confidence and independence in their learning experience. They will be able to use our sessions as a springboard and foundation, but also as a direct support and guidance in their learning journey.
I am familiar with methods such as:
-close analysis - how to extract the relevant information from a text
-virtual sessions, verbal and written feedback
-tasks (such as mock essay/exam questions) to complete before our session which we mark together and improve through direct and constructive feedback
-learning creative ways to retain information such as visual mind-maps and flashcards, or auditory affirmations and mnemonic devices
-sharing resources that can help such as books/videos/secondary resources/talks
