About Georgina

Alternative to education I am a chatty, animal crazy, enthusiastic and dedicated sports woman who is currently preparing to be a sports gap student coach. I've been lucky enough to grow up passionate about sport; so much so that I recently went on a hockey and netball sports tour around South Africa. I also enjoy being the lead singer of a band, where we perform around my local area- I hope to publish one day! These co-curricular activities compliment my love for teaching as they bring a healthy distraction and encourage new experiences to develop new friendships.

About the lesson

I loved my A levels (Philosophy, History and Chemistry) and GCSE. Having been drilled in exam preparation I want to be able to help students love the subjects they choose as well as prepare them properly. From my experience, an engaging and happy work environment is so important; allowing students to relax and associate learning with a positive outlook. I aim to promote as much fun as possible ( a range of quizzes, colours, recall methods, you name it- I'll try it). As every student is different, my broad interests and methods of learning allow me to be versatile and flexible in my approach to helping students understand content, adapting to each individual need. Alongside hashing out the important nitty gritty details of the subject, sifting through past paper questions and reviewing the mark scheme in depth, I found to be the most useful when preparing for my exams. Having a teacher or a tutor who has been through this very recently beside you looking through the paper is something I found extremely rewarding and helpful, something I wish to share.

With some experience in providing educational and mental health peer support for younger students; I have fallen in love with teaching and the diverse opportunities education can give you. I would be suited to GCSE History, Chemistry, RS and A level Philosophy students; aiming to unlock pupils potential, build their confidence and share my passion in learning.
