About Kayla

Hello, my name is Kayla Taica! Professionally, I am young (18), and it may seem as though I don't have much experience. However, I have spent as much time as possible to build up my teaching skills. I worked for 1 year as a swim coach teaching children from ages 0-17 years, and I have been a tutor for 1 year as well. In terms of classroom experience, I have been a teachers aid for three separate classrooms adding up to 1 year and counting of experience. My first class was in a special education high school English class, the second was in a middle school advanced pre-algebra class, and the final was in a high school English classroom. Throughout college, I will be continuing to spend time in various classrooms!

As for my own knowledge and ability, in high school I took all AP English classes, and I was able to earn perfect scores on my AP exams. English has always been my favorite subject, and I am excited to spread the knowledge to others! While I was still in high school I was already tutoring my peers, including some with learning disabilities.

About the lesson

I am a college student working towards receiving my teaching licensure! Being a student is difficult, and I spent a lot of my time trying to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the public education system. From children with learning disabilities to those who were labeled gifted, I aim to create flexible lessons that meet the individualized need of every student. Tutoring welcomes the adaptability that the classroom may overlook. As of right now, I am open to teaching any grade level from kindergarten to 12th grade, and I welcome any level of comfortability. Everyone is capable of learning and deserves to feel belonging in their classroom!
