About the lesson

Hi, this is Heena! I am doing an MSc in Public Policy and Management at The University of Manchester. I achieved 8A* and 2As in my GCSE O-Levels in all science subjects and scored an A* in Mathematics and As in Physics and Biology in A-levels. I have been teaching GCSE Maths ever since I appeared for my own A-Levels (10+ years and for the past four years on MyTutor and Superprof), and this has allowed me to develop a fantastic grasp on not only the material but the best way to convey it! I am a fun-loving, friendly person with a pleasant demeanour. My optimistic nature helps me develop a rapport with all my students, making learning all the more enjoyable for us. The general framework that I use, tweak and personalise for each student is as follows: 1. Gauging the student's current ability 2. Developing a schedule/timetable with concrete milestones with input from the student 3. Theory-based learning 4. Practice 5. Some more practice! My go-to method to help students is a past paper practice as it allows us to cover a broad range of topics, learn exam-specific tips and tricks, and, more importantly, build the student's confidence in their ability to solve an exam. Sticking to recent past papers ensures that our learning meets the latest requirements and is specific to the student's exam board and tier.
