About Jessica

I'm a kind, compassionate person who tries to see the best in everyone and loves to help others reach their goals and succeed. I believe strongly in the value of learning a second (or third!) language and the opportunities it can open to us. I've always loved working with young people in an educational setting and love seeing those 'lightbulb' moments where something finally clicks! I'm very responsive and flexible in my approach to teaching and will ensure I have a good understanding of your language learning goals so that I can adapt my teaching accordingly. Ultimately, I want to see others thrive and flourish and I relish being a part of that. I look forward to getting to know you/your child, discussing your goals and working together to achieve them.

About the lesson

I'm a fully qualified secondary French and Spanish teacher comfortable with teaching French to A-level and Spanish to GCSE level. I also have some experience of teaching French at primary level and would be happy to tutor primary aged students in either French or Spanish (either bilingual or as a second language). I would also be very happy to work with adults who have decided to take up a second language and would like to work on conversational, functional language.

As for my teaching style, I am very flexible and will always look at the learner in front of me, try to get an understanding of how they learn best and adapt my teaching to suit. Having worked in state schools I am very experienced at adapting subject knowledge and teaching to suit a variety of ability levels and also have experience with students with SEN.

Lesson length is flexible and something I would discuss with potential tutees ahead of starting sessions with the option to change this as required.
