About Olivia

As a fully qualified teacher registered with the GTCS, I bring both classroom expertise and a proven ability to adapt it for the online environment. My lessons are carefully structured to combine engaging digital tools, interactive activities, and clear progress tracking so students stay motivated and parents remain informed. I use a mix of visual resources, online games, breakout tasks, and formative assessments to make sessions lively and effective, while tailoring support to each learner’s goals. Whether your child needs extra help to close gaps, confidence-building to enjoy learning again, or extension to challenge their thinking, I adapt lessons to meet them where they are. Parents can feel reassured that I provide not only academic guidance but also a safe, professional learning space online. I maintain open communication with families, sharing feedback regularly and celebrating progress together. My international teaching background and SEN experience also mean I understand how to make lessons inclusive, supportive, and enjoyable for all learners. With me as your tutor, your child will gain not just subject knowledge, but the confidence and independence needed to thrive in online learning and beyond.

About the lesson

As a passionate and nurturing educator with 8 years of teaching experience, I design online lessons that are engaging, student-centred, and inclusive. My methodology blends creative lesson planning, cross-curricular teaching, play-based learning, and digital tools to meet each learner’s needs. I am able to tailor lessons to specific children’s needs focusing primarily on phonics, reading and literacy skills and can cover all areas of the primary curriculum to ensure every student feels supported and motivated to succeed. Lessons typically last around 45 minutes, with brain breaks included if necessary. Lesson times can be adapted for age group, focus, or intensity of study. My aim is always to balance new learning with time for practice, reflection, and confidence-building. I hold a PGDE in Primary Education from the University of Strathclyde and I am a fully qualified teacher registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Enterprise and a TEFL certification, which has enabled me to teach English as an Additional Language abroad in Thailand, as well as tutor one-to-one and in small groups both online and in person. My career has also taken me to Australia and across Scotland, giving me extensive experience in primary classrooms, SEN support, and multicultural teaching contexts. My lessons are designed from early years to upper primary. Whether helping a child grow in confidence, supporting a pupil with additional needs, or preparing a student for the next stage of their learning journey, I always strive to create a caring, respectful, and motivating environment.
