About David

I am a friendly person and enjoy teaching because I feel I'm helping somebody in a way which will have a long-term impact on their life. I'm very confident that everybody can learn and develop as long as they have a teacher who will teach them in a way which is suited to them.

I am a father myself and I always ask myself the question, "what if that was my child?" and because of this mentality I never give up when helping a student.

As a person, I enjoy playing football and I am trained in several martial arts, including Tae Kwon Do, Jiu-Jitsu and Krav Maga. I also enjoy reading, playing video games and watching movies.

About the lesson

I am a patient tutor and like to make sure that my students feel confident with their learning. I also like to make sure that I am teaching in a way which is fun and suitable for the learner, such as using physical equipment or computers etc. I think learning is easiest when it's fun and thus I try to link all my lessons to something the student is interested in such as video games or sports.

I also believe that the key to teaching is building a relationship with the student so that they feel excited and happy to make mistakes and push themselves to learn.

I am a fully-qualified teacher and former subject lead with extensive experience in mainstream primary and in special needs schools. I am happy to work with students of a primary age to either help them catch up or to challenge them to further their knowledge. I also enjoy working with people with special educational needs and helping them to achieve their goals.
