About Tim
Hi! My name's Tim. I'm a full-time professional musician and drummer, who's been playing since 1988 and teaching since 1996! I was the drummer with platinum selling band Arkarna so I've headlined massive festivals such as Java Rockin'land festival (JRL) and performed to audiences as big as 350,000! I was also the drummer on tour with some of the X-Factor live shows, including artists like Danyl Johnson and The Mend, plus I was the drummer with The Drifters, Worlds Apart and the UK's most in-demand 80s band, Miami Vibe. I'm also a published top-10 record producer, signed artist, singer and pianist! So I have a few strings to my bow. I'm very friendly and approachable, I have a good sense of humour and a lot of patience. :D

Far too many teachers have a 'one method fits all' approach to teaching, but the issue is, you're an individual, not just 'another student'! So I cater my approach to best suit you. The way you learn has to make sense to you, in order for you to be able to learn it, remember it and be able to pull it off in a live situation, without it sounding like you're still practising! ;) With this in mind, I strive to be able to show you things in several different ways and find a path that best suits you. I've had students go on to be in bands within 6 months from being a beginner! But you have to put the work in as well. ;) Together, we'll work from the ground up in an exciting and progressive manner, that both builds strong foundations (so you don't experience problems later) and also gets you playing to your favourite songs as fast as possible! That way, you'll see progress and stay motivated! I was a student of some of the greatest drummers alive, including Bill Bruford, Mark Mondesir and Jim Chapin, who wrote the book on Moeller Technique! I'll teach you rudiments, grooves, fills, independence exercises, playing to a click track and backing tracks and correct technique, with a focus on Pop and Rock. I teach all levels from beginner upwards and I teach all ages. Lessons are typically 1 hour long and I currently teach online, meaning you don't need to spend hours stuck in traffic trying to get to me! ;)
