About Ella

6 years in, hundreds of students helped, one mission: make physics feel obvious, approachable, and even enjoyable. I tutor students from K–12 through first-year university with a teaching style built around intuition rather than intimidation. Instead of drowning students in formulas, we break every topic down to its underlying principles, develop strong mental models, and use visualization, estimation, and pattern recognition to build real scientific intuition and lasting number sense.

From 9th-grade kinematics and forces to calculus-based mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, and introductory engineering physics at the university level, I meet students exactly where they are and architect a clear, personalized path forward. Lessons are designed to strengthen both conceptual understanding and problem-solving efficiency, combining guided practice, active recall, exam-style drills, and strategic review techniques that translate directly into stronger academic performance.

I also focus heavily on helping students overcome the fear and frustration that physics often creates. Many learners come in believing they are “bad at physics,” when in reality they’ve simply never been taught in a way that makes the subject intuitive. My role is to simplify complexity without oversimplifying the science, turning confusing textbook language into practical reasoning students can actually use under pressure.

Whether preparing for AP, IB, honors, SAT Subject-style coursework, or first-year college exams, students gain more than improved grades and test scores. They develop the confidence to approach difficult problems calmly, think critically under pressure, and explain their reasoning with clarity. By the end of our work together, students don’t just survive physics — they learn how to think like physicists and tackle challenging problems head-on with confidence and precision.

My approach to physics tutoring is framework-first. K-12 to college Year 1, we replace random problem-solving with repeatable thinking systems.

Every lesson opens with a concept map: Where does this topic live in the physics universe? Then we stress-test it. We’ll derive key results together instead of memorizing them, so you understand when v^2 = u^2 + 2as applies, and when it catastrophically doesn’t.

I use multisensory inputs: 3D visualizations for fields, storytelling for thermodynamics, and micro-labs you can do at your desk. For younger students, we build strong algebraic habits alongside motion and energy. For college freshmen, we bridge high-school gaps and prep for calculus-based rigor: work-energy, momentum tensors, circuits, oscillations.

Assessment isn’t separate from learning. We do “teach-backs” where you explain to me, active recall cycles, and exam simulations under calibrated pressure. You’ll get a personalized error journal and a strategy sheet for every unit.

The goal isn’t just an A. It’s to rewire how you approach hard problems: identify principles, ignore noise, and trust your reasoning. Physics stops being a gatekeeper and becomes a lens. That’s the shift I teach.
