Gaia is an organised, hard-working and dedicated individual, with a positive and friendly attitude.

As Selwyn College JCR Access Officer 2015-16, Gaia created, managed and motivated a College Access Committee, leading a small team to improve equal access to higher education. She has a passion for widening participation, evident from the number of projects she initiated. This included an alternative prospectus, where Gaia demonstrated a keen eye for detail when proof-reading 38-pages of content. Gaia also offered support and advice to 100+ students of all ages during school visits, open days and interview days and led a team of volunteers during a five-day residential summer school for 64 sixth form students.

Her dedication to supporting young people in their academic studies and progress to higher education only strengthened in her role as Cambridge University Students Union Part Time Exec for Access and Funding. Gaia was instrumental in the success of the Shadowing Scheme, where hundreds of prospective students come to Cambridge and spend time with a current undergraduate, studying a subject that they are interested in, who they 'shadow'. Following graduation, Gaia was hired as a Student Recruitment Officer at Wolfson College, where she used her expertise to organise the first ever mature students Shadowing Scheme. She achieved this whilst studying part time (Creative Writing MSt).

Gaia always puts 110% into every single thing that she does. She is without a doubt the most hard-working person I have ever met, but beyond that, she is incredibly thoughtful, kind and empathetic. I believe these qualities would make her an excellent tutor and cannot recommend her highly enough.

Gaia is a very hard-working and friendly individual who is fantastic at motivating everyone around her to work harder in more effective and rewarding ways. Having worked with Gaia in many capacities, from academic to theatrical, I can attest to her abilities of putting one at ease by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, inspiring one to strive toward your best possible self.

Not only is Gaia one of the most friendly and inclusive people that I know, but she is also an excellent speaker and teacher, having deconstructed many difficult concepts to me and others in order that we may understand them, over the course of my knowing her.
