About Pearl

I am a Mandarin teacher from Taiwan currently completing my Master’s degree in Chinese Language Teaching. I also have experience working as a Chinese Teaching Assistant at an American college, where I taught students with different language levels and cultural backgrounds.

I am a patient and supportive teacher, and I always adapt my teaching style to each student’s pace and needs. I understand that learning a language can sometimes feel challenging, so I aim to make my lessons clear, structured, and easy to follow.

I speak fluent English, which allows me to explain difficult concepts in a simple and understandable way when needed. My goal is to help students feel comfortable, confident, and unafraid of making mistakes.

Most importantly, I want students to enjoy the learning process and gradually build the ability to use Chinese in real-life situations with confidence.

About the lesson

My lessons are fully personalized based on each student’s goals. Whether you are preparing for a proficiency exam, or learning Chinese for daily conversation, travel, or business purposes, I will design lessons that fit your needs.

I also focus on making Chinese characters easier and more approachable, breaking them down in a way that helps students understand and remember them more naturally.

Having experience as both a learner and a teacher, I understand the challenges students face, especially those who are studying after work or balancing busy schedules. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

In addition to language itself, I believe learning Chinese is also about understanding culture. I explain cultural and historical contexts in a clear and simple way, including connections within the broader East Asian cultural sphere, so students can better understand how the language is used in real life.

To make learning more engaging, I also incorporate popular movies, TV shows, and music into lessons, helping students learn authentic and modern Chinese in a fun and memorable way.
