About ITSUKI

Hi, my name is Itsuki. I have been living in Gold Coast for 9 years, and before that, I spent over 10 years in Sydney, Australia. I’m originally from Tokyo in Japan, but I spent my early childhood at my mother’s family home in Hokkaido so I’ve experienced both city and countryside life. In my private life, I enjoy dancing and exercising, and recently I’ve also developed calmer hobbies like meditation. I currently live in Australia, and I love meeting and talking with people from all over the world.

About the lesson

Hello! I’m a native Japanese speaker who has been living in Australia for many years. Through my own life and work here, I deeply understand both Japanese and Australian cultures — and how to bridge the gap between them. I’m also a parent to a bilingual daughter, which has given me hands-on experience in supporting language development in a natural, encouraging way. I know that learning a language isn’t just about grammar — it’s about confidence, communication, and enjoying the process. Although I don’t hold a formal teaching license, I specialize in practical, everyday Japanese that you can actually use in real life. My lessons are relaxed, supportive, and tailored to your goals — whether you’re learning Japanese for travel, conversation, work, or personal interest. By profession, I work in disability support, which has strengthened my patience, empathy, and ability to adapt to different learning styles. I believe everyone learns differently, and I create a safe, positive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and growing. Outside of teaching, I love exercise and dance, and I often bring energy, movement, and fun into my sessions when appropriate — especially for children or learners who enjoy a more dynamic approach. If you’re looking for a kind, reliable, and culturally knowledgeable Japanese tutor who will support you at your own pace, I’d love to learn together with you.
