About Abigail
My name is Abi and I have a real passion for helping people learn to love English. I currently work as a playwright and in a children's bookshop where I spend my days developing young people's love of reading, running clubs such as my YA book club, where I often help young teenagers with more difficult reads or even with their English homework. I have both a degree in English and drama school training with an emphasis on Shakespearean and classical text, as well as a real focus on 20th Century Literature, so I specialise in these areas. My knowledge in the book world means I have easy access to a lot of texts on the curriculum and a wide knowledge of literature that relates to these texts. I have also worked previously as a performing arts tutor in Kent Youth Theatre in Canterbury, teaching the three disciplines of drama, dance and singing, meaning I am good at bringing students out of their shells and employ a variety of methods to give students confidence in their learning and abilities. I have a real passion for the world of literature and helping those around me, and give my heart and soul into my tutoring.
