About Yusuf

Hi, I'm Yusuf! I’m a native English speaker from Canada with a big passion for film, cinema, video games, and exploring new cultures. I work in video editing and film production, so my entire world is built around communication, tone, and telling stories.

Growing up speaking both English and Dari gave me a real appreciation for how languages work, and traveling the world has shown me how awesome it is to connect with people from different backgrounds.

As a tutor, I keep things incredibly relaxed, patient, and down-to-earth. I don't do rigid classroom lectures or boring grammar drills. My focus is entirely on conversational English - helping you speak naturally, understand native slang, and build real confidence. Even though our sessions are chill and conversational, I take your time and goals seriously. I'm highly reliable, organized, and focused on helping you step up your fluency.

About the lesson

As a native English speaker from Canada, I don’t teach straight out of boring, rigid textbooks. My approach is structured but incredibly relaxed, practical, and conversational.

Because I also grew up speaking Dari, I deeply understand what it takes to navigate different language structures and build real confidence. I don't focus on making you memorize endless grammar tables; instead, I focus on functional literacy, active reading comprehension, and natural pronunciation. My goal is to create a relaxed, zero-stress zone where you can make mistakes, learn fast, and actually enjoy the process.

Who These Lessons Are For:
My lessons are perfectly suited for intermediate to advanced learners (adults, students, and working professionals) who already know the basics but want to take their English to the next level.

I specialize in helping people who want to:

-Understand native slang, idioms, and cultural nuances.

-Read articles, books, or professional documents with total ease.

-Smooth out their accent and speak with a natural rhythm.

A Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan:
Every session is customized to what you need that day, but a standard, balanced lesson usually looks like this:

The First 10 Mins (Warm-Up): A casual catch-up conversation to get your brain thinking in English and warm up your speaking muscles.

Next 25 Mins (Active Literacy & Reading): We dive into a real-world text (a news article, a short story, or a topic related to your field). We read together, break down advanced vocabulary, and discuss the meaning.

Next 20 Mins (Targeted Fluency Drill): We focus on specific pronunciation, fixing common rhythm mistakes, and using new phrases we just learned in natural context.

Last 5 Mins (Wrap-Up): A quick review of your wins from the lesson and a few actionable takeaways for you to practice before our next session.

What Sets Me Apart:
I am not a rigid school lecturer. I act as a dedicated language partner and fluency coach. Traditional classes teach you how to pass a test; I teach you how to naturally express your personality, thoughts, and humor in English.
