About Fionna

Hi! My name is Fionna, I'm a third-year mechanical engineering student at the University of Bath currently on my placement year at Jaguar Land Rover. I've been tutoring for a few years now with some on and off breaks. I have received tuition myself as a child so I know how it feels and what a student's doubts may be in the Maths and Physics course. I used to tutor for the 11+ exam, and French, Maths and Physics at GCSE level.

About the lesson

My teaching style is to run through the important topics in each subject, as I am familiar with the course, I know which aspects of the course are most important to understand in order to get ahead in exams. I like to do little oral summary quizzes after finishing a topic just to make sure the students understand exactly the content. I think when approaching exam period, exam style questions are the most important part of revision, as it helps the student put their knowledge into practice, so we'll be doing a lot of this. I am most familiar with the AQA Physics board and the Edexcel Maths board but the exams for STEM subjects often have much overlapping content. I believe in person teaching is often better so I’m happy to come help out in the students' comfort zone.
