About Lizzie

I'm an English Language and Literature tutor with years experience of supporting students through GCSE, A-Level and 11+.

I also offer lessons online and am an experienced Skype tutor.

I have tutored GSCE for the past 5 years and appreciate that it can be a stressful time for students. I remember my GSCEs, and the stress of trying to balance so many different subjects. I believe that one-to-one tuition can make a big impact on a student's confidence in the run up to exams by allowing them the time to go at their own pace. I tailor my lessons to suit each student's needs, whether it is developing creative writing skills, exam practice or getting to grips with the characters and themes of the texts and working on analysis skills. Above all I aim to make the lessons an enjoyable experience.

I have wide GSCE (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, iGCSE) with texts including: Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, Merchant of Venice, The Tempest, Jekyll & Hyde, No Longer A Ease, Hard Times, Of Mice and Men, Conflict Poetry, A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, View From The Bridge, Lord of The Flies, To Kill A Mockingbird, Songs of Ourselves and Stories of Ourselves.
As well as wide A-Level experience including: Othello, Winters Tale, Frankenstein, The Color Purple, The Handmaid's Tale, Jane Eyre, A Long, Long Way, Beloved, A Streetcar Named Desire.

I studied English Language and Literature at UCL and have an MA in Shakespeare. I particularly like helping students to enjoy Shakespeare. I am passionate about helping each student to fulfil their potential.
