About Yana

Hi, I'm Yana! I'm an English tutor with a genuine passion for helping students build real confidence in the language, not just memorize rules they'll forget. I've tutored before taking this on more seriously, and that experience has taught me how to read what a student actually needs — whether that's patient repetition, more conversation practice, or a structured plan to work toward a specific goal like an exam or improved fluency.
I take tutoring seriously as a responsibility, not just a side activity. That means showing up prepared for every lesson, tracking each student's progress over time, and adjusting my approach when something isn't working rather than sticking rigidly to one method. My goal is for every student to leave each session feeling like they've genuinely moved forward, with the confidence to keep using what they've learned outside our lessons.
Whether you're starting from scratch or polishing skills you already have, I'm committed to making sure your time with me is focused, encouraging, and actually effective.

About the lesson

My name is Yana, and my teaching approach is built around making English feel practical and usable from the very first lesson, rather than just memorizing rules. I focus on a mix of structured grammar work and real conversation practice, because I've found that students retain far more when they're actually using the language, not just studying it in theory. I adapt my method depending on the student: some need a steady, methodical approach with lots of repetition and written exercises, while others learn faster through dialogue, role-play, and correcting mistakes in the moment.
A typical lesson usually starts with a quick review of what we covered last time, followed by a short focused segment on a specific grammar point or vocabulary theme, and then moves into applied practice — conversation, reading, or writing exercises that put that lesson into context. I always leave time at the end for questions and a small "homework" task to reinforce what we worked on, so progress carries between sessions rather than resetting each week.
What sets me apart is that I've already tutored before this, so I'm comfortable adjusting on the fly when something isn't clicking, and I genuinely focus on building a student's confidence alongside their accuracy — many learners know more English than they think, they just need the confidence to use it.
My lessons are suited to a wide range of students: beginners building a foundation, intermediate students looking to sound more natural and fluent, and anyone wanting to improve specifically for school, work, or everyday confidence in speaking.
