About Aya
My name is Aya, and I’m a dedicated tutor with a background in psychology and a TEFL qualification. I currently work as a one-to-one tutor, supporting children who are out of school with subjects like English, maths, and life skills. I have experience working with students who have special educational needs and take a calm, flexible approach to help them feel supported and understood. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy training in Muay Thai, trying new foods, and would love to travel more in the future. I’m naturally curious and enjoy connecting with people from different backgrounds, which I believe adds something meaningful to the way I teach. I’m passionate about helping people grow in both skills and confidence.

With a background in psychology and a TEFL qualification, I bring a calm, understanding, and flexible approach to teaching. My experience includes working one-to-one with children, including those with special educational needs, as well as supporting adults who want to improve their English for work, travel, or everyday life. For children and young people, I focus on building confidence, communication, and core academic skills through creative and interactive activities. I also place a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, helping students to feel safe, heard, and supported as they learn. For adults, I help with grammar, pronunciation, fluency, and building confidence in conversation, while also addressing things like overthinking and speaking anxiety. Lessons are adapted to suit your pace and preferences, and I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging space where you can make real progress without pressure. My goal is not only to help you improve your English but also to enjoy the process and feel more confident in yourself.
