About Madeleine

I am a conscientious, approachable and enthusiastic student of the University of Roehampton, where I am completing a degree in English Literature and French. I am very passionate about both the subjects I study and would greatly enjoy the opportunity to help others improve their work both linguistically and grammatically, in order for them to gain the highest grades possible.

I have two years previous experience as a children's Tutor in Longlevens, where I tutored children aged five to eleven. I have plenty of experience working with students of all ages, as I have also spent a year volunteering with Highnam Cub Scouts and some time volunteering at Highnam Primary School. I spent last year working as an Au Pair in Paris with two French girls aged six and eight. I tutored them in English at home and helped them with their English schoolwork and weekly spelling tests.

I have worked with adults through another tutoring agency for the past year, tutoring adults in both French and English. Frequently I have given lessons in conversational French, to couples thinking of moving to France. They have reported back to me that the lessons were very beneficial in helping them to feel comfortable moving to France and conversing with other French people.

About the lesson

I endeavour to make my lessons as interesting and helpful as possible, whether with adults or children. I like to work on all aspects of language, depending on the students' needs, emphasising on spoken language as I believe it is the most useful. My lessons are based on the areas which are most interesting to the student, so that they can work on what is most important to their learning.

I tutor a range of levels in both French and English Language/Literature, from basic levels to GCSE/A level. As a level C1 in French, I am able to tutor levels A1-B2.
