About Simone

Hi! I’m Simone, a second-year Economics student at LSE and an experienced Maths tutor with over 5 years of experience. I passed the 11+ exam, attended a grammar school, and went on to achieve a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths and an A* in A-Level Maths. But I wasn’t always confident in Maths. In fact, I used to find it frustrating and didn’t enjoy it much at all…until I had a tutor who really changed the way I saw the subject. They explained things clearly, encouraged me, and helped me believe I could improve. That shift in mindset made all the difference, and it’s a big part of why I now love Maths and why I tutor today. I want to be that same supportive figure for younger students, to help them build confidence, enjoy the process, and realise they’re capable of more than they think. I’m patient, kind, and genuinely enjoy working with young people. I always take the time to understand how each student learns best and adapt my approach to suit them. My lessons are a calm, open space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing from them. So whether you’re preparing for the 11+, working towards top GCSE/A-level grades, or just looking to feel more secure in your understanding, I’m here to help you every step of the way!

About the lesson

My lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are ideal for students aged 8 to 18 who want to improve their performance, prepare for exams, or catch up on tricky topics. I focus on building strong foundations, boosting confidence, and developing problem-solving skills. I use a mix of clear explanations, guided practice, and exam-style questions to help students truly understand the material, not just memorise it. I tailor my teaching to every student’s needs and truly enjoy seeing my students become more confident and capable. I’m now going into my second year studying Economics at LSE. Having gone through the UCAS application process, I am also open to providing advice on university applications too if needed.
