About Danielle
Whether it's literature or language, whether you're six or sixty, I believe that the study of English should be engaging, creative and fun. I am an Oxford graduate with a First Class Degree in English literature, along with a TEFL qualification and a decade of experience working in-person and online with students of all kinds. I specialise in English Literature for GCSE and A Level, English as a foreign language (including IELTS and business English), eleven plus, school entrance, and Oxbridge entrance. In my tutoring style I aim to take a friendly and flexible approach. Whether it's a few one-off sessions for an adult ESOL learner looking to gain confidence in English conversation, exam technique coaching before GCSE, A Level or IELTS, or long-term reading, writing and vocabulary development with primary-age students, I ensure my lessons are fun, individual, and tailored to the student's personality. Along with my private tuition work, I am a scriptwriter, novelist and creative writing teacher. My work has been produced in UK venues such as Southwark Playhouse, The Watermill Theatre and Camden People's Theatre, as well as in international festivals. I like to use my experience in the arts to inform lessons where appropriate - whether that's by incorporating drama games into sessions with younger learners, or using art, music, theatre and film as conversational topics for adult ESOL learners. Danielle was an incredible tutor. She was calm and very knowledgeable. At each session we would review text and discuss meanings and interpretation. Danielle gave me confidence in my ability.
